Playoffs and Banquet Info

Cheerleading Banquet

Each year the cheerleaders attend a cheer banquet at the Cedarhill Golf and Country Club. This event brings together the girls to share memories, good times and to celebrate the accomplishments that the team and each cheerleader bring to the club. Cheer Awards are handed out along with a showcase video of the cheer season, followed by a buffet. This is the time of the year that the girls look forward to with their team after the season has ended.

More Info posted in October.

All Cheerleaders must register online.

Junior Squad and Senior Squad Levels

Regular Practice Season starts July 18th, Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30 - 8:30.

Camp Week

Camp week was a lot of fun with many new returning cheerleaders and new recruits! Thanks to the coaches for doing such a great job and making Camp Week a fun team bonding experience. The girls learned new cheers along with a new dance routine. Pizza night brought the team closer together and allowed each cheerleader to learn more about their team.

Cheerleaders

Join in on all the fun and excitement of being a Nepean Eagles Cheerleader! Learn new cheers, stunts and dances and perform for the Nepean Eagles Football Club during the games’ half-time.

The dance routines are choreographed by the coaches and incorporate stunts and/or tumbling depending on the cheerleaders' abilities and experience.

The girls also cheer at the sidelines during the games.

Cheerleaders participate in a Team Building Event each year. In the past we have participated in half-time shows with the Sooners Cheerleaders, Ravens cheerleaders and performed a half-time show at the Ottawa Redblacks game. This year the Ottawa Redblacks Cheerleaders hosted an instructional cheerleading clinic at our field that incorporated cheers, chants, sideline routines, halftime material and stunts to help prepare us for the upcoming season.

Beginner and experienced cheerleaders are welcome.

Register today and be part of a fun and dynamic Cheer Team!

General Info

Regular practices for Junior and Senior squads will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm - 8:30pm from July 18th through to the end of August.  Once games begin, along with the regular practice days, a mandatory pre-game practice attendance 1 hour before game time is required in order to be part of the half-time routine to ensure consistency and set expectations for a seamless half-time show.  Once school begins, practices will be held every Thursday from 6:30-8:00 until the end of the regular season, approximately mid-October.  Once the playoffs begin, Thursday practices will no longer be scheduled as cheerleaders will only be required to be at the field 1 hour pre-game.

What to wear/expect:

  • shorts or athletic pants (no jeans)
  • long hair must be up in a ponytail and out of face
  • no dangly earrings/jewellery that could get caught or harm others
  • running shoes are required - if you do not have appropriate footwear, you will be asked to sit-out (no flip flops or sandals)
  • fingernails should be kept short
  • no gum, candy, cough drops, etc. are allowed
  • NO CELL PHONES are allowed on the field during practices or games.
  • bring water!!

Once squads have been established, please ensure mandatory clothing has been purchased.  More info to follow!
